Your Events
Family Fun Day
Bring your whole family for a day of fun, activities and community connection.
Children’s activities, entertainment, community stalls and food. Started in 2018. Now a beloved tradition. Our 2023 event had a Star Wars theme and 600 people came.
Free event. All families welcome. All ages.
Family Fun Day returns in May 2026 after a break in 2025.

NAIDOC Week
Celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture with our community.
Flag raising ceremony followed by morning tea. Started by Dr. Kevin (Uncle Dookie) O’Loughlin OAM. Now run by our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Project Officer, Misty Taylor, and the Warringga Committee.
Learn about First Nations culture. Show respect. Bring your children to learn. Everyone welcome.
When: July 11, 2026
Who: Everyone. All ages. All backgrounds.
Cost: Free
Iftar
Break fast together during Ramadan with other Muslim women and families.
Share food. Build friendships. Let your daughters connect with other Muslim girls. Started by our Multicultural Project Officer, Zulfiya Abdulla.

Our 2025 Iftar had 80 people attending.

Vietnam Veterans Service
Honour those who served in the Vietnam War.
Commemoration ceremony followed by lunch. Started by Heather Hewitt and Vietnam Veterans Edinburgh. Partnership with City of Salisbury.
Veterans, families and community members who want to pay respects are all welcome.

Volunteer Night
Celebrate our volunteers who make everything possible.
Games, pizza, bingo and recognition. Started in May 2025. Now an annual tradition to thank those who give their time.
You give your time. You help our community. This night celebrates you.

Who: All Pooraka Farm Community Centre volunteers
Cost: Free
Events bring community together. You meet your neighbours. Your children play with other children. You share food. You learn about different cultures. You feel less alone.
