Our History
1993: We began
Pooraka Farm Community Centre began as Pooraka Farm Neighbourhood House in 1993. A small start. A big vision. Create a place where everyone belongs.
Growing with our community
We added new classes, activities and events as our community grew and changed. We listened to what people needed. We adapted. We grew.
From a neighbourhood house to a community centre. From a few programs to many. But our core purpose stayed the same: create home for everyone.
30+ years later

Bad experiences in education don’t mean you can’t learn. Trauma doesn’t mean you’re broken. Isolation doesn’t mean you’re meant to be alone.
They mean you haven’t found the right place yet. We want to be that place.
