Career Pathways
Introduction To Care
Fridays, 9:30am to 2:30pm.
Some Thursdays 9:30am to 1:30pm running for 10 weeks, starts 28 January 2027
Would you like to work in Aged or Disability Care? This program will introduce you to the basic skills and knowledge required to go on to further study or work in the care field.
Program includes: Work, Health and Safety, Infection Control, Understanding the Role, Planning Employment Pathways, Communication Person Centred Approach, Advocacy, Industry Speakers and First Aid*.
Explore a new career!
*Provide First Aid (HLTAID011), Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (HLTAID009) and Provide basic emergency life support (HLTAID010) with TAFE SA (RTO 41026). Participants will receive a statement of attainment on completion of program.
Introduction To Carpentry
Mondays 9:30am to 2:30pm.
Some Thursdays and Fridays running for 10 weeks starts 15 October 2026
This program will help you develop the basic skills and knowledge related to the carpentry trade. The course will include work health and safety, hands-on carpentry tool skills, communication skills and a White Card*. You will also be supported to explore the carpentry trade and create a plan for work, further study, or personal growth.
Skills You Can Build On!
*Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (CPCWHS1001) with CITC (RTO 0647). Participants will receive a statement of attainment on completion of program.
Introduction To Women's Studies
Fridays 9:30am to 2:30pm.
Some Thursdays and Fridays running for 10 weeks starts 23 July 2026
This program will support you to increase your confidence, identify your goals and create plans for the future. We understand the many challenges that women can experience, and we want to help you work out what you want and need. The course will include self-confidence building, wellbeing and resilience, communication, advocacy, and Communicate Assertively*.

Learn to sew simple projects, garments and adjustments in a friendly and supportive environment. Suitable for beginners or those wanting to expand their knowledge.
You can bring your own fabric and sewing machine, or use some of ours!

Term 3 2026 (10 weeks)
Wednesdays 9:30am to 11:30am
Learn the basics of computers and technology, browsing the internet and using Word and Excel. The class will build your confidence and improve your skills in a fun, friendly and supportive way. You will also be supported to create a plan for work or further study.
Computing for the Workplace
Term 4 2026 (10 weeks)
Wednesdays 9:30am-11:30am
Ready to take your computer skills further? This program builds on your basic computing knowledge and dives deeper into the tools used every day in the workplace. The course will focus on Microsoft Excel, Word and other essential workplace applications, helping you work faster, smarter and with greater confidence. You will also be supported to create a plan for work or further study.

Customer Service Skills
Term 1 2027 (6 weeks)
Starting Date 3 February 2027
Wednesday 9:30am to 11:30am
Build your confidence, knowledge and skills in customer service for any setting. Learn to leave a lasting impression on customers and make a meaningful impact on your community in a fun, friendly and supportive environment. You will also be supported to create a plan for work or further study.

Advocacy Skills
Term 1 2027 (6 weeks)

Tuesday 9:30am-11:30am
Build your skills to speak up for yourself and others in daily life. This program will empower you with practical tools to communicate confidently, make informed decisions and create positive change. Unlock the power of your voice!
Facilitation Skills (Train The Trainer)
Term 1 & 2 2027 (8 weeks)
Starting Date 4 March 2027
Tuesday 9:30am-11:30am
This program will build your knowledge and skills to teaching adults in diverse community and workplace settings. The program includes developing communication and presenting skills, planning content, identifying appropriate resources, games and icebreakers, behaviour management and understanding adult learning principles.

Work Ready Skills (Torrens Transit Pathway)

People who come to our classes go on to all kinds of things. Some continue their education through RTOs or university. Some find employment. Some volunteer, here or out in the community. And some simply come back each year to keep learning and growing.
Every path looks different, and that’s okay. What matters is yours. We’re here to support you in reaching your own goals.

Some programs have creche available. Your children matter to us. Your children play safely while you learn in class.

You can join if you are 17 to 65 years old and not enrolled in school. That’s all.
